Nicolaus Copernicus ideas

1. The earth is not the center of the universe
2. Only the moon revolves around the earth
3. All the planets orbit the sun
4. The distance from the Earth to the Sun is negligible compared to the distance to the stars
5. The stars seem to move due to the self-rotation of the earth
6. The daily motion of the sun and the motion of the tropics are the result of the motion of the earth
7. The anterior motions of the planets are the result of the rotation of the earth and the planets around the sun at different speeds. Though the ideas were very simple, they did not make any significant movement in the scientific community or the general public at that time.
   

Copernicus did not write in ordinary language but in Latin, the preferred language.Ordinary people did not know about it. Johann Kepler, a contemporary of Galileo, was an assistant to Tycho Brahe, a famous astronomer at the time.

But Brahe did not accept Copernicus’ theory of solar eclipses. Instead, it was believed that the planets revolved around the sun and that the sun revolved around the earth along with the planets. Kepler, however, accepted Copernicus’ heliocentric theory. But he did not appear in public because of his good relations with the church.
