The maximum speed at which we can communicate information in this universe is the speed of light, which is 3 million km / second. That is, nothing moves faster than this. For example, suppose the sun suddenly disappears in a second, and it takes about 8 minutes and 20 seconds for the earth to see the event until the last ray of light reaches the earth.
Now, the Earth, which has been orbiting the Sun by gravitational force on the Sun, will take the same time to detect the Sun’s disappearance, stop orbiting and slip free from the orbit. The reason for this is that if we examine on a grand scale the change in the current space-time curve caused by the disappearance of the Sun requires the same amount of light to travel through the gravitational waves and affect the Earth.
This is because the speed of gravitational waves is the speed of light. Looking at the quantum level on a smaller scale, gravitons, the basic element of gravity, need the same amount of time to exchange forces in the field,.
because gravitons have the same speed as photons. In other words, even if the sun disappears, the earth will continue to revolve around the sun for another 8 minutes and 20 seconds.
So no doubt any object and any kind of information can never travel beyond the speed of light
But there is a twist. There is an information that is transmitted faster than light. An instantaneous transfer of information “Quantum entanglement” will be described in the next post.
