Perseids are meteorites from the Swift-Tuttle comet. The name Perseids comes from the fact that Perseus seems to emerge from the constellation.
Although the meteor shower is seen every year from late July to mid-August, this year the highest number of meteors was seen on August 11, 12 and 13.
