Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT)

When completed in 2029, the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) will be the world’s largest optical telescope capable of taking pictures of the universe with 10 times the resolution of the Hubble Telescope.

It is being built at the Los Campanas Observatory in Chile at a cost of $ 1 billion. It has 7 primary mirrors with a diameter of 8.4 m.

If the eyes of man in space were James Webb, the eyes of Earth would be Magellan.
