6.5 hours outside the space station, Raja Chari on a new mission

Raja Chari, an Indian-born astronaut who arrived at the space station last year, has completed his first spacewalk. Raja Chari spent 6.5 hours outside the space station as part of a special mission.

The mission was to upgrade the International Space Station, which has been extended to 2030. Raja was accompanied by flight engineer Kayla Baron.

The mission was to fix problems with the space station’s solar panels and to remove old panels and install new ones.

All the day-to-day operations of the plant are powered by electricity from solar panels. Some of these had stopped working. The two went out of the station to solve all this.
