The discovery was made using the PRL Advanced Radial-Speed Abu-Sky Search (PARAS) optical fiber-fed spectrograph, the first of its kind in India, at PRL’s 1.2 m telescope at the Mount Abu Observatory.

Using PARAS capable of measuring the mass of an exoplanet, it was found that the mass of the exoplanet was 70% and 1.4 times the size of Jupiter. These measurements were made between December 2020 and March 2021.
