
The bones were recovered from a Neanderthal hunting camp in Navalmaillo Rockshelter, central Spain. These bones were analyzed by researcher Abel Moclan / his colleagues. Statistical analysis of the fossil record suggests that Neanderthals cooked large herds of cattle and deer in rock shelters.
