A large body of water was discovered on Mars. The discovery was made by the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO), which may have made significant strides in trying to colonize Mars.
The discovery was made by the Fine Resolution Epidermal Neutron Detector (FREND) Telescope on the spacecraft. The presence of water has been revealed in an area with an unusually large amount of hydrogen in the mighty Wallace Marineris Gorge.
The team said the water, discovered by the orbiter, could be in the form of ice or water that is chemically contaminated with other minerals in the soil. As the mission plans to land on the lower latitudes of Mars, the scientific community hopes that finding such a reserve of water on the planet will be of great benefit to future missions.
