The asteroid is traveling at a speed of 94208 kilometers per hour. NASA says it can be seen passing from Earth with the help of telescopes
NASA has classified the asteroid, which is 4,500 feet in diameter, as a dangerous meteorite. NASA has named it the Asteroid 2016 AJ 193. It will be closest to Earth on the night of August 21st.
The asteroid is traveling at a speed of 94208 kilometers per hour. NASA explains that it can be seen passing through the Earth with the help of telescopes. It is expected to return to Earth in 2063. Scientists predict that it will not be dangerous when it crosses the Earth in 2021.
But scientists warn that in 2063, the asteroid will orbit a little closer to Earth. It is currently nine times the distance from the Earth to the Moon. The asteroid was first detected in January 2016 by the Hawaiian Observatory in Hawaii.
After this, NASA started observing this asteroid. This asteroid is very dark in color. Due to this, the asteroid reflects very little light. The scientists also explain that the information about the direction of rotation, the time taken for each rotation and the spectral class are not clear.
Each time it orbits the Earth, the asteroid gets closer and closer. NASA has so far detected and observed 26,000 asteroids. Of these, 1,000 are classified as dangerous asteroids.
