This infrared color image shows a special reflection of the hydrocarbon lake Kivu Lacus on Saturn’s moon Titan.
Kivu Lacus is the smallest lake on Titan – about 77.5 km wide, located very close to the north pole of Titan.
This image was taken on July 24, 2012 by Cassini Flyby, also known as the Cassini Team “T85” Flyby. It was the most intense reflection Cassini has ever seen from the surface of the Titan.
On July 7, 2009, Cassini saw its first reflection on Titan, and this observation provided visible confirmation of fluid in the northern hemisphere of Titany.
